Replace Your Missing Teeth with Dental Implants
When you have missing teeth, dental implants may be an option you’d like to explore. While dentures and dental bridges are always available, these dental appliances are not permanent and will have to get restored over time. Dental implants, on the other hand, are lifelong solutions to missing teeth.
Implants Look Like Natural Teeth
One major benefit of dental implants is their natural-looking appearance. Implants are permanent dental restorations that are attached to your jawbones. The crown on top will perfectly match the color and shape of your teeth, so it will be undetectable and you will feel confident smiling.
Our Process
If there is a possibility of needing a dental implant, Dr. Pulver will refer you to an oral surgeon to evaluate. If the oral surgeon decides that a dental implant is necessary, Dr. Pulver will be the one to place the crown.
What Are All-On-4® Dental Implants?
With this procedure, patients can complete their surgery and have replacement teeth in one day. It’s no wonder why these implants are also known as Teeth-in-a-Day Implants. In contrast, traditional implants cannot handle even temporary teeth for four to six months. Instead, you may need to wear a denture, a bridge, or possibly go without a tooth for that time period.
In the All-On-4® procedure, the replacement teeth come in the form of dentures fixed in place using the 4 implants at time of surgery with the oral surgeon (Dr. Pulver will be present at the surgery for fitting of dentures). These dental implants rely on your available bone for stabilization. These implants are great for patients who lack bone density or volume. All-On-4® Dental Implants are also great for dental patients who:
- Have a healthy immune system
- Do not smoke or use tobacco products
- Are in good oral health overall
- Are missing multiple teeth in the lower or upper jaw
During our initial consultation, you and Dr. Pulver will determine whether you are a good candidate for All-On-4® Dental Implants.
The All-On-4® Dental Implants Procedure
- The referred to oral surgeon will numb the area to eliminate pain and discomfort during the treatment.
- The four implants will be placed in areas with the most optimum bone volume.
- Temporary teeth are attached to the implants with a new or existing denture as the frame by Dr. Pulver at the time of surgery.
- Once the bone has fully integrated with the implant (three to four months), Dr. Pulver will replace the temporary teeth with a new permanent set that is securely anchored in place.
How Do You Care For Implants?
The implants remain in place so that you can chew food, talk or smile with confidence. You must floss daily and brush your teeth twice a day to take care of the implants and your remaining natural teeth. In addition to using a regular toothbrush, you can use small interdental brushes to remove any food debris from the implants.
